NFL Bold Predictions After Week 13
This may be a little crazy but thats the point with these bold predictions.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars will make the AFC Championship.
I feel very confident about this actually and you should to, but because they are the Jacksonville Jaguars with QB Blake Bortles, the idea may be scoffed at. Let me give you some reasons why. The Jaguars currently are at 8-4 and tied for first with the Titans in the AFC south division. In their final 4 games, they are favored in all of them, including a game this Sunday at home against the Seahawks and a week 17 match up against the Titans which probably will determine the AFC south champ. The Jags will finish 12-4 and may clinch home field advantage in the playoffs depending on how the current 10-2 Patriots and 10-2 Steelers finish their season. Now remember, the Jags have the tiebreaker with the Steelers if they end up with the same record because of their head to head matchup in which the Jags whipped Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh 30-9 earlier this season forcing QB Ben Roethlisberger to throw 5 interceptions. The Patriots are the only team I can surely say can beat the Jags in the playoffs. They can beat the Steelers again and be favored against any other potential teams they may face in the AFC playoffs. The Jaguars are currently ranked 1st in pass defense, 1st in overall defense, 1st in rushing and top 10 in total offensive yards this season. The only thing holding this team back from being legit superbowl contenders is below average QB play from Black Bortles who's QBR currently stands at 83 which is below 3 other quarterbacks who were benched this year, Eli Manning, Tyrod Taylor and Trevor Siemian.
2. Odell Beckham Jr will leave the NY Giants to join the... Dallas Cowboys.
Wouldn't that be a huge headliner for sports media. It makes sense. Lets look at it from both sides and you will see this prediction isn't as crazy as it seems. At the end of this season Odell will be a free agent. Odell Beckham Jr wants many things as a football player. Including money, to win, fame and exposure. Now the magnitude of how much he wants to win can be argued but nevertheless a lot of his frustrations are genuine. but all of his desires can be accomplished with joining the Cowboys. They by far have the exposure, they have plenty of talent to win some games and to be Superbowl contenders. But do they have the money? The answer to that is, not enough now but they are very close. The release of former QB Tony Romo has helped tremendously in clearing cap space for the Cowboys. Not to mention the Cowboys have one of the youngest teams on the league, what does that mean? Rookie Contracts. 2 of the Cowboys biggest stars Ezekiel Elliot and Dak Prescott are under rookie contracts which wont have to be touched for another 2-3 years. So the Cowboys wont have to worry about that. Its no secret that the Cowboys need to revamp their WR core. Current Cowboys WR Dez Bryant and TE Jason Witten have declined and wont be getting any younger. In fact Witten may retire at the end of the year which will clear some cap space as well. Also expect the Cowboys to make some moves away from current WR Terrance Williams who in my opinion has been the worst of all starting receivers for the last 2-3 years. The fact is, the Cowboys can and will have plenty of money to spend on Odell Beckham Jr. Lets be real, Dak Prescott needs him especially because without RB Ezekiel Elliot or when Elliot has a poor game, Dak cannot be a successful QB. Odell would fit in with Dak and this offense perfectly.
